Abstract
In this study, the oxidative damage of sodium arsenite (NaAs02 ) was investigated by measuring the malondialdehyde (MDA) and glutathione (OSH) levels. NaAs02 was administered Swiss Albino mice (35 mg/kg) and sacrificed after one hour. MDA and GSH levels were determined in liver, kidney, brain and heart tissues by UV-Spectrophotometric methods. After NaAs02 treatment MDA levels decreased in liver, brain and kidney (p<0,001), on the other hand, increased significantly in heart tissues (p<0,01). No alteration was observep in liver and kidney OSH levels, however, NaAs02 caused significant depletion in GSH in both heart and brain (p<0,01) tissues.
